Cathay Pacific "Airshow"

Check this out. Cathay pilot performed an unauthorized low pass at boeing field. USA today reported this and posted this link. Gutsy guy. Pilot lost his job. :shock:

Heard this story earlier today. Reminds me of the Swedish C-130 pilot that lost his job after buzzing the paratroopers only a few weeks ago. I always find it interesting that the responses around the net are 50/50 between fellow fliers describing the stunt as bold and an outstanding piece of flying while others say it was dangerous and poorly executed. Regardless, he didn't have the go-ahead from his company for what he did and suffers the consequences for it now...

I agree with you 100% LD. When I said "gutsy", I guess I was refering to his, as you called it "Boldness" to do this without permission. That in itself, is a bonehead move. For me there is no 50/50. If not authorized, you don't do it. Especially when other lives are at stake.
