Cougar!!!!!!!!!

Post by lieutfunaki » Mon Apr 18, 2005 11:07 pm

Just got my cougar today. $240 off ebay. Everything works great, except I can't seem to use the nws a/rdisc etc... button doesn't seem to work but so far I am blaming that on pilot error...I think I just haven't figured out the radar/weapons system in lomac yet.

Any suggestions on cougar set up for lomac...and specifically VTB flying?

Are you sure that the buttons and axes are assigned in Lomac?

great question. Yes. Besides, just as a test I placed the stick in "windows" mode and pushed the button while looking at the "properties" display in windows contol panel. The button lit up once out of about 200 hits. I'm suspecting a loose wire, and may initiate surgery soon.

The radar cursor button/hat is questionably usable also, so long term I may work on that as well. The good news is that the pots are in fab condition, and the stick looks brand new. Also, it came with covers...though they are in the wash at the moment since they smelled like smoke.

I would just check for a loose wire or a "cold solder", a cold solder is when a contact is not heated up with the solder and it forms a dull grey color. a good solder should be nice and shiny.
