Virtual Thunderbirds HOTAS Cougar Profile v03
A new HOTAS Cougar Foxy profile is available for download from our files page.
  • The .tmc (curves - HCCP) file is setup linear and work well with the curves shown in the screenshots included from LockOn.
  • The .tmj (joystick) and .tmm (macro) are widely used by all our pilots as a basic Foxy programming for aerobatic flying with the Cougar.
  • For FSSB users we suggest "shaping" your y-, and x-axis' with HCCP axis shaping in addition to the above. This can be done by using the FSSB Resistance Calculator to set up the DZs and curves appropriately. This allows a heavier pull (i.e. more range and better muscle memory) in your pitch axis, up to any # of lbs (but limited to the factory settings on the FSSB as maximum). It also lets you setup your FSSB to a "0.68 ratio" between the roll-, and pitch, much like the real F-16.
  • Gimbal/Stock Cougar users set up your Cougar per the screenshots provided in the download (resistance is irrelevant due to the stick actually moving).
Changes in v03
Added HUD Only View toggle
Added Audiable Warn Reset
Range Knob button free (can be used as a DX button for In Cockpit Timer).
Cougar HCCP profile (.tmc) is linear in all axis, to allow "pure" curves to be setup in LockOn as desired (i.e. no "shaped" profiles or .tmc is provided in this archive).
