Just back from the airshow in Punta Gorda with #2. Lotsa sun, great flying and we had a blast!

*Real Tbird Comms are uploaded on our audio page
*VTB Ops manual is updated on our files page

Quick recap: For this early in the season the Thunderbirds performed two very impressive shows, both without any mechanical problems. A handful of "rookie mistakes" that only the most savvy airshow freaks would ever spot, otherwise close to perfect given a new team and this early in the season. Amazingly quick turnaround times between maneuvers. They fly the entire high-show under less than 30 minutes (remote show). They've really trimmed the show well and there's truly no down time between maneuvers! New Boss sounds cool too ("Little more puuuoouuoouull"). Solos flew exceptionally well for their hits and "Fifi" lived up to all expectations! We also met Rob Reider, the airshow announcer (see www.robreider.com ) and talked with him a good half hour after the show the first day. Great guy! Hope we see you here sometime Rob! Tryouts... ;)

The music score has changed one hundred percent since last year. Some of the new songs are good, others depend on your taste I suppose. I thought their overall music score was better last year, although I like a handful of the new audio tracks they've chosen for '06 too. We currently do not have a list of songs and I'm only going by what I recall hearing over the sound system.

More other news soon! 8)

Awww, they changed music? I suppose I should give it a shot, but I loved it last year. :?

Any noteable changes in the maneuvers performed?

No changes to the maneuvers, but the timing of the show is really fast paced. Good luck with getting the music! I don't even know where to start with that since every single song is new this year...

I'll be at the Columbus AFB show. Sounds like its gonna be an awesome show, I can't wait!! I'll do what I can to contribute to the unofficial new song list.

Also, I know there are frequencies for the T-Birds on MilAirComms but, LD, are those accurate? Thanks!

Hey guys,
My name is SSgt Scott Grabham, I am the #6 DCC for this years team(#3 last year). I am a long time fan of your flying and dedication. I will get you our new music list as soon as I can. The music had to be changed at the last minute this year and is still a work in progess. You are right about Boss Robbins' transitions, he wastes no time getting the diamond/delta back into position. It may take me a bit to get the music but I will get it to you. Keep it up! Grab

Grab,

Welcome to our site!!! Thanks for your feedback. It's great to hear from more active Thunderbrids. Our ever growing list of contacts is quite amazing, but it's always hard to find active members. I think the quickness of the show is outstanding and "Hollywood" definitely seems to know how to maneuver the Diamond around. Also, I appreciate you trying to help out on the music. It's just a matter of time to piece it together for us, but many fans around forums are eager to find out. Believe me, we're used to reseraching, since pretty much everything we've done on this team has started from scratch without any real info until the bits and pieces came came along the way via educated guesses, real sources or a combination of both. Great to see you checking in! Best wishes to you and for a great season and tell "Pinto" HE-DA-MAN!
