Pitchout and takeoff

Post by Codee66 » Wed Mar 25, 2015 9:54 pm

What determines which Pitchout the Thunderbirds use? Is it based on the showsite or landing direction?
Also, same with takeoff direction. When I saw the Thunderbirds at Aviation Nation in 2008 they took off from Runway 3, but in all of the newer videos they take off from runway 21. It also seems like every show they fly at Mcchord they take off from the same runway.

A left or right pitch to land is determined by show site, it is always opposite of the crowd. Wind direction and runway length determine the runway for takeoff.
