Hey is a YouTube clip of Thunderbirds practice flyby for the Super Bowl.

Just saw the interview with Maj. Anthony Mulhare on FOX News. Quick and short. Watch the show! They will flyby right after Faith Hill.

Well, I thought the interview on Fox News said Faith Hill. I guess it is going to be Jennifer Hudson.

Well, they flew right over my house after departing McDill. Did not have my camera ready. :x

Got a few shots of them circling prior to the flyover. I will post them on my webshots for you guys, but really to far to get a good look at them.

Boy they sounded great!

Here is the interview by Brian Kilmeade at Fox News:

Super Fly Over

Here are my shots from my front porch. Sorry, could not get better shots. I only have a 200 mm lens. Gosh, I wish I could have gotten the shot as they flew over my house!

And here's the Star Spangled Banner & Flyby (with zero mention of the Thunderbirds on NBC... ):

They did honor the US Airways crew of flight 1549 though! :)

So so. The only people in the US, who weren't in front of the TV to watch the Super Bowl, are the Thunderbirds.

Too bad, the jets were neither mentioned or very well visible. :?

Did anyone notice that the uniforms changed... the pilots now have wings on their show suits and the crew chiefs have their crew badges on them.

Super Bowl Thunderbirds Fly Over

What can I say about this photograph? If you are at all patriotic and proud of our great country then this photograph might give you goose bumps. I certainly got them when I took the photo.

It was taken from the northeast corner of the very top of Raymond James Stadium during the peak of the United States Air Force Thunderbirds fly over at the conclusion of the playing of the National Anthem during the Super Bowl this past Sunday.

Although the Thunderbirds and the view of the full stadium is spectacular in itself, the Pittsburgh Steelers fan waving the "terrible towel" adds another element to the photo. In my opinion this makes the moment captured in the photo that much more dynamic. Although I carefully composed the photo and I anticipated the placement of the USAF Thunderbirds, the towel waver was the extra stroke of luck which I've mentioned before in this blog.

As a photographer you always have to be ready to capitalize on a element of surprise and use it to your advantage. You will be surprised and pleased at the results of your efforts.
