Ahhh... the soundtrack Ed Shipley put together. Still the best suited IMHO...

Yep, the formations have changed over the years and since the start of the F-16 era and more so during the most recent decades, the Thunderbirds have flown a characteristically flat formation, unlike the Blue Angels who use a deep stack and lots of wing overlap. Two distinct trademarks of each team...
