On this aircraft, on the patch, it has Nellis on there. Are they on the F-16s for the present or is this an old thing?

No, if you look at the tails of the current F-16's it will say "USAF" above it Also and I may be wrong it looks like they added a beak to the bird

Black and white photo will not show yellow all that well. The beak is there, you just can't see it !!
