Interesting Recruiting Fact

Post by FutureThunderbird » Sun Sep 09, 2007 8:24 pm

Before I went to the Minot AFB airshow this weekend I read an article on the Minot Daily news website quoting I believe LtCol Robbins saying that about 85% of the people in the air force say that the Thunderbirds had something to do with them joining the air force. I found that fact startling and awesome. It proves even more why we need to keep our military demonstration teams flying!

85%!!!

Similar kind of figure here in the UK with the Red Arrows.

The main reason for the Reds is to be ambasadors for the RAF and is why at all Air Shows the RAF recruitment van will normally have the Reds displayed all over it.

Associate that kind of formation flying with the RAF and you've got a captive audience for recruitment.

I know it's why I wanted to join the RAF (shame i screwed up my exams though!!).
