Radio Calls from the Virtual Thunderbird performance, VFAT December 6, 2009
Listen in to our live Ventrilo (comms) recording from VFAT 2009, remastered in higher quality with some "radio-esque" SFX. The silence/gaps between radio transmissions has also been edited out, so our entire High Show from start to finish plays in under 23 minutes with non-stop radio calls.
Note: Last year the team was still using "derived" target parameters, so the airspeeds heard are calculated to a slightly slower value than the real world numbers and based on the flight model and G onsets, while still maintaining the pre-planned show timing. (Nowadays, we fly using the actual target parameters used in the real world, so our airspeed calls and readings match those of the USAF Thunderbirds). In addition, and as always, there are a handful of other minute changes between last year's comms and those used today, but this gives you the opportunity to put a headset on and listen in to the ditty as we performed live.
