It is with great pleasure that I announce the selection of Steve "Gunner" Watts as the newest pilot on The Virtual Thunderbirds. Steve received his number moments before the premiere of "Smoke ON" in Las Vegas this past Thursday evening. Gunner has shown what it takes to achieve the dream of becoming a Virtual Thunderbird: he has practiced incessantly, and during phase 2 of our training he has shown us that he has what it takes and what it will take to be one of the best virtual demonstration pilots in the world. Gunner, a sharp salute from the Boss and all the Virtual Thunderbird team. Congratulations and welcome aboard.

Hey Gunner!!

When I first met you on ventrilo a couple of months ago during a 'live' performance of the VTB, I told you then you were a 'shoe in'. It was obvious then as it is now that you were not just a fan like the rest of us but a dedicated and committed VTB wannabe ;)

Looking foward to the screenies and videos of the future. Congrats and best of luck.

PS. Of course this means you're no longer eligible for the Cougar giveaway u know. ;)

Thank you all!
From the very first time I watched the Airshow Promo 2006, I had a burning desire to be part of this team. In July, when I met Striker and Cobra, and then Bon and Convertible, the desire became a goal I had to achieve.

Now that I've had the privilege to spend time with the entire team(except Cinch), I'm humbled to be considered part of this group of men. The Virtual Thunderbirds are not only representative of the USAF Thunderbirds in the virtual cockpit, but in the professionalism and character exhibited in the real world.

The goal has been reached, but now the real work begins  I know the pressure's on - I won't dissapoint

Hey Gunner,

Huge Congratulations are in order. I never had a doubt that you would earn a position on the team. The countless hours of practice and your tireless dedication has definitely paid off. I hope that one day soon we will both have time to fly together again.

Talk to you soon,

Thumper

Congrats Gunner and welcome to the Team! You've earned it bud and have progressed faster then anyone else that I have seen. As you can confirm it takes a huge amount of practice to fly correctly and it doesn't get easier as you'll see. :D But, I know for a fact that you've already raised the bar for new recruits and you'll raise the bar as a member of this team. It's a blast flying with you and was a pleasure meeting you this weekend in Aviation Nation.
