Why use vent? Is it more real time than TS? If so what kind of codec would I need to run to make it this way?
Thanks for any info....

Ven has better quality options than TS. They are both equally fast considering ping or comms lag, but we just prefer Ven. No rime or reason, just a choice...
The Codec we typically use is GSM 6.10, 11KHz 16 bit. If you want crystal clear comms at the expense of more lag try GSM 6.10, 44KHz 16 bit. It's better than phone quality. When we fly however, having it set to a lower quality not only allows for less lag spikes, but gives you a better sense of immersion into flying cause the way it sounds.

Need specifics, but simplest thing if what you're trying to do is connect to our server: Go to the
contact page and click on the Ventrilo banner. That will launch Ventrilo and enter all the connection IP's, Ports etc automatically for you. All you have to do prior to that is have a "User Name" and its "Setup" (for mic input and Push-To-Talk button etc) entered. Also, if you cannot connect this way means that you already have our server listed in your "Server" drop-down menu or Ventrilo is already running.
That's "any help" for ya! If that wasn't it, be more specific...

Just curious, while you're flying do you all have your Ventrilo set to push-to-talk, or voice-activated, or whatever?
