next video request

Post by jimmywa3 » Sun Apr 10, 2005 2:57 pm

You fellas probably aren't taking any requests for your next video, but I think it would be cool if we could hear your actual comms , of course, keep the cool music too. just an idea. Enjoyed the video so much that I actually dusted off the Cougar and fired up LOMAC with your F-16 mods and flew around for the first time in many months. Noted your suggestion in the FAQ section on how to practice formation flying, created a scenario and tried my hand at it. Not too good. Dont 't know how you guys do it. Thanks for the videos and keep up that great flying...... Jim

Jim,

We will more than likely have actual comms from the real guys in our next vid. I know a couple of you have asked if we could have our own, but they're essentially the same except that we might not sound as strained while transmitting (screaming) our callouts as the real guys do since they pull high G-load's at the same time. Our radio comms are nearly the exact same as the real team uses, so we figured it would sound cooler with the actual recordings (at least for the most part). Then of course the soundtrack will be another main event and I believe we're going with the same one they use during real shows now (and not the punk rock *** that was in the first vid  ).

Airshow narration

Post by RescueDan » Wed Apr 13, 2005 11:19 am

What about a video with the standard airshow commentator voice over? I think it's number 9 the PAO. That would be good for a promo video.

Just an idea. I'd be glad to assist. I've seen the full show several times.

We're already planning to do this and add more actual narrating over the video (or even make our own narrating)! :) It's actually #8 that does the narrating on the Thunderbirds. That doesn't necessarily mean our #8 has to do it, but in case anyone else is curious about the real life lineup it goes:

#1-8 are pilots and the rest are the remaining officers on the team.

#1 Lead/Commander
#2 Left Wingman
#3 Right Wingman
#4 Slot Pilot
#5 Lead Solo
#6 Opposing Solo
#7 Operations Officer
#8 Advance Pilot/Narrator
#9 Flight Surgeon
#10 Executive Officer
#11 Maintenance Officer
#12 Public Affairs Officer

Does number 9 require an actual doctorette?

That is what SE told me. I asked him last night and he said yes. He stated something about showing off your guys' skills.

We'd like for our next video to showcase our skill a little better than the first one did (especially since we are a tighter team now). The first video had many shots from far away and I don't think only "showcenter" camera agnles would do us justice. We need to mix it up some more with cool close ups and in cockpit views during transitions and angles that would really show off each pilot at his best maneuver.

Trailer/Teaser... Mmmmmm... very likely!!! :D

S!

Yea...very cool movie BUT if you're open to suggestions I'd recommend a little less of the shaky stutter stuff. Gets annoying

SE was up all night on the last video and was slaving away on it and overdid the shake because of his extreme caffeine high he was on.
