I wonder if they get to the other side of the lake with some wider shoes.

Gee - I wonder why they all run in the same place, same arc, same max distance...maybe that's where the rocks end?

Wouldn't they slip if they were running on rocks burried in the water, and 20ft out in the water? :?

Yes, that's why they don't make it every time! Do you really think a waterproof shoe can displace enough water to propel a 150lb body for 20 - 30 feet? They made a great video, but they can't change the laws of physics!

It might be a hoax, I have no clue, but it's an interesting concept. If you compare them to skipping rocks, they may be able to achieve "walking on water". I've been trying to look up what makes a rock skip, but can't find any good resources of why a random spinning rock skips on the water.

Just think about the mass of a flat rock (or even round) in relation to the surface area skipping on the water, and then factor in the velocity of a thrown rock compared to a human running...don't think any of us could outrun a rock, (unless it was thrown by Obama).

You have a point with the ratios of velocity to mass and drag.

Someone should submit the Liquid Moutaineering to Mythbusters for a follow up episode to their "Walking on Water" one.
