PUT UP OR SHUT UP!!!

Post by Sinister » Sat Jan 02, 2010 11:08 pm

Ok well... It has been long overdue.

I would like to invite you all for some RFACTOR THROWDOWN.

I know some of the teams have a few rFactor racers, and I do remember something being mentioned about doing a team vs. team vs. team thing. So let's do this.

There is a pretty cool series called MEGANE TROPHY 2.02. The cars are pretty practical. No SUPER MOBILES or blinding speeds like F1.

Anyways, just wanted to see if anyone is gonna MAN UP and get this RUMBLE underway.

Lets vote on a series mod... and LETS DO THIS!!!

My vote is for Megane.

That looks like a lot of fun, I'd certainly take you on if I had a wheel/pedal setup. My old one broke about a year ago and I never got around to replacing it. I really want a G25 setup.

I used to play a lot of Grand Prix Legends, GTR, GTR2, and Live For Speed - racing sims are a blast.

I have rFactor as well but haven't installed due to not having a wheel :(

Yeah, I hear you on that, but to be honest I raced rFactor since 2005/2006 with my SAITEK X45 until I got my wheels last year.

G25s on eBay are fairly reasonable. That's where LD and I got ours.

Here's one up for this week- http://cgi.ebay.com/Logitech-G25-Steeri ... 1e59ce2388

I like the MEGANE series to start out, but open wheel is my thing, the faster the better.

Yeah, not bad price for it.

But IMHO a Logitech Momo or DFGT would be just right, but with the G25, the option to place the shifter column wherever you want as well as having a clutch and a 900-degree steering rotation is a big plus for series that you would actually need those differences, i.e. DRIFTING and DIRT CHALLENGES.

Momo is great for Open Wheel F1 stuff with only 270 degrees.

But thats just me. I got my Momo for $50 and my DFGT for $100.

The OVAL TRACK STUFF like VHR TRUCK SERIES is pretty cool with a lot of bump drafting, but of course we want courses.

Where are you at LD and GUNNER with your input on this. Hmm?

Where are you hiding... Come out come out whereever you aaarrreee!!!

I don't have rFactor but I have Arca08 and Grid along with a Momo. Just can't get used to the turning, I would either over or understeer and always seemed like the wheel wasn't reading my inputs or they were delayed.

I gave up and stuck to flying and first person shooters <-- which I suck at too.

You have no idea how much I want to do this, but not without a wheel & pedals... Burner's "reasonable" deal is out of reach right now, my business is down to the point that I'm looking at part time work just to keep the house.

That said, if things turn around, I'm in!

Unfortunately, I'ma have to take the "shut up" -option too.

My G25 is collecting dust and probably will for some time to come. :(
