Transformers adds more firepower in sequel

Post by Lawndart » Sun Jan 18, 2009 4:57 pm

USA Today article: 'Transformers' breaks out the big guns for sequel
USA Today excerpt wrote:What makes the sequel to 2007's Transformers different from other Defense Department movie partnerships is scale.

Among the equipment the movie is using in this desert sequence alone: two A-10 Thunderbolt II "Warthog" tank-killing jets; six F-16 Fighting Falcons; 10 armored Humvees; the Army's Golden Knights parachute team; two Abrams tanks; two Bradley tanks; two missile-launcher vehicles; two armored personnel carriers; and a quarter-mile of the missile testing range, cleared of unexploded ordnance and built into an Egyptian town and temple. (Signs warn not to cross a perimeter just over the gypsum dunes, because live bombs could be hidden in the sand.)
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen trailer to air during Super Bowl
Variety excerpt wrote:Paramount has yet to unveil a single frame of the "Transformers" sequel and will use the Super Bowl to make the big reveal.
The release of "Transformers 2" is set for June 26, 2009
