Good evening VTB's. Just joined the forum and having a look around. You guys, along with the VBA's and the other formation demo teams are all top notch!

Just saying Hi.

Thanks guys. Listen, is there any open servers out there that take in us new virtual pilots and let them practice formation flying? I've downloaded the VBA mod, (which is great) and the VFAT mods and have practiced until my hands cramped from holding this joystick so much, however since we all know how fickle the AI planes are with airspeed, it's almost impossible to keep a continuious formation together. I will say this has taught me great throttle control.

I got my letter to tryout from Kwibi, from the VBA's, but asked him to push it back because I knew I wasn't ready for my tryout. I wasn't prepared to go into a server and not totally know what in hell I was doing. But, I was just wondering if there is another outlet to get the ones who take this very SERIOUSLY, and who want to join a team, a chance to fly with real people who can show/teach skills and allow a pilot to sharpin his/her formation flying. The mods are great, but there comes a time in flying when you leave the "simulator" and get in the cockpit with the real deal......meaning, "A VIRTUAL FLYING WORLD"

I'm looking to progress forward now. I've known about all of these teams for a couple of years now and have always wanted to become part of a team. Now, that I have the time and deication to really give to it, I want and will do whatever it takes to give some team my very best effort.

Lost in the Blue Pixs right now!

lmao @ lost in the blue pixels right now - I like that bud

The VSB's have a phantom running some days of the week/weekend where you can fly with them. It switches between the VSB and VGH teams and use different plane models.

Contact Rotorblade over at the VSB's for more info (I think the phantom is offline at the moment).

**In my best Homer Simpson Voice** D'oh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kwibi was very helpful and totally understood my platform. Like I told her, I just want my ducks in a row before I try out for anyone. She did make me feel better saying that there are a few things that most teams look for, but don't expect you to know and fly perfect the first few times out. But, it's me that was putting to much pressure on myself to be prepared to the fullest!

I'm just ready to strap in and actually talk to another pilot and LEARN!!!!!

That is good.

It takes lots..

I have been doing this for... 3 or so months now...

And to say the truth...

I need more practice then I get! :P

Good luck,

Good flights.

Wow Gunner, that's one hell of a setup you have there. Also love the "I've dug my fingernails into the throttle" paint flaking you have on it.

Can you give me the 411 on your setup or pm me other pics? I just wanna see it and hear the story on how you built it.

Very Cool Gunner!

There is an entire thread dedicated to Gunner's Pit which shows the evolution of the beast. You can find it in the Pit Builders forum, or click here.
