BF2: Sands of Fire Preview!

Post by Lawndart » Sun Jan 28, 2007 9:56 am

This BF2 movie preview looks amazing. If this doesn't make you want to play, I don't know what will! Hard to believe this is actual game footage in the first place... Thanks to Canuck for the heads up!

Is this a preview for an addon, or is this a movie being built on the original BF2?

Just a BF2 (user) movie, nothing new about the game...

WOW! Some masterful post production there. Almost seemless backgrounds added as well as what looks like a few new skin packs- the entire ambiance that is created is great. I have to wonder if they do their own voice overs b/c it sounds more like a professional job, if it is all them then my hats off to some exceptional voice acting and capture quality.

The voice overs are from Medal of Honor Pacific Assault.

It looks interesting. I'm not sure if it fits my style of gameplay though. I prefer FPS, things like Rainbow Six Vegas 8) , or CS: Source. But it looks interesting. I'd wanna play it before buying it though.

I wish Rainbow Six: Vegas was on PC... OK, checked before I clicked, but I'll leave it up. Seeing as how it's on PC I might have to try it. I hate FPS on consoles. I prefer using a keyboard, though if I get my new TV, I may have to change that rule!

For some reason the BF series didn't feel right to me. The play felt kinda cartoonish. I noticed this in BF1942, decided to give BF2 a shot after. It's still there, but notably less. It had a better feel, but it still didn't feel "right". Delta Force:BHD, however, I love. Haven't played it in a while, but I definatly enjoyed that one.

Anyone here playing BF2 should check out the Project Reality mod. I can't begin to put into words how far superior this mod is to the garbage that regular BF2 has turned into.

Funny you should say that, I'm just d/loading PR now after seeing it on ModDB.

I'm also creating a BF2 mod based on Dale Brown & Jim Defelice books on the Dreamland series.

You'll be able to fly the Megafortress, Flighthawks and Werewolves :D

I'll post some links when I get the site and forums up.
