Use the AA mode on the HUD (don't recall keystroke), then press the keypad period while looking at the aircraft.

Click the exe and walk away from the PC. I noticed it took about 5 minutes before the program began installing.

It's probably not headphones but ear protection e.g. foam ear plugs, some are attached via a string.

You need to be in AA (2 on keyboard) or AG (7 on keyboard) mode in order to padlock an object. You also must be looking in the general direction in order to get padlocked.
