This training mission was supposedly "Starting the A-10 engines". Ramp start.
I will be playing around with it again today.

Downloaded it last night. First impression is that there are a few bugs that straightaway need to be ironed out. I went to one of the training mission just trying to start the engines on the ramp and it put me at 10,000 feet in a jet that really wasn't responding too well to my joystick. (Do I need ...

For anyone thinking that a cyclone is different than a hurricane or that I was maybe a little alarmist, I offer the following... Cyclone Yasi superimposed over the lower 48.   http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/hs068.snc6/167844_10150136051854714_531984713_7749848_6597...

It looks like Cairns dodged a bullet. The cyclone veered away and crossed the coast where it wasn't very populated. Those areas have been flattened but, amazingly, no reports of casualties yet. Our weather forecasters gave us about a week prior notice so people were obviously well prepared. Everyone...

I understand that regional ops are different to the situation I operate under. In Qantas everyone starts as a second officer regardless of their previous experience. Second officers are there to act as relief pilots on long sectors and they are also there to learn the airline operations. Provided yo...

Can I put forward an alternate view? I have always said that the most important crew member on an airliner from the point of view of safety, is the First Officer rather than the Captain. The First Officer is the last link in many causal chains and history is littered with accidents that occurred bec...

Hey Ray, It is not that I am not happy for you, just shocked that the pay rate is THAT low. I am lucky I guess. My RAAF pay was pretty good for a young single guy and from then my airline pay keeps me in beer money and more. But the airlines have cottoned on to the fact that people will fly for pean...

I regularly go to Shanghai. The city is amazing. Ask me about the MagLev ride into the city from the airport sometime...... top speed... 450Km/hr!! (that's fast for you non-metric-ites!) China is advancing on all fronts, there is no doubt about that. However...... Someone my age has seen this all be...

Something seems not right about the image. The rudder fins seems to be too small in comparison to the rest of the airframe and the comparable fins on the F-22. Didn't the Serbs try to give parts of the F-117 that was shot down in Serbia in the 90's to the Chinese; causing the "accidental" bombing of...
