There was a server running that you could fly the AI planes, for the life of me I can't remember the name or IP addy, sorry.
You didn't need to mod anything, just load up and away you go.

If you're looking for a cheaper stick, I've found the Logitech Freedom 2.4 wireless one excellent value for money. And it fly's pretty well in LOMAC too.
