I agree with Lawndart, we use those methods to acheive large formations. It takes a lot of practice to making a large formation look great but it is worth the effort.

The "Fighter Pilot: Operation Red Flag" I saw in Dayton last year about 3 times over the course of 8 weeks while I was there for training. It was by far the best Imax film I have ever seen. I will own this DVD some day.

I used to work for the biggest name in ATM's in the world and there were a few days after work where I got to get up close and personal with XB-70 they only let me take pics of the outside of the plane. There was also a AF-12 in the same Hanger.

I would love to get my own formation flying team together in real life with some small planes. It would be neat to do it in those Pitts planes. I found a pair of them, older ones, on line each for around $20,000. Now only if they seated two people. Would be neat to bring the wife with.
